Kimberly Lanham

Khat Graphics Founder/CEO

Kimberly Lanham was born in the foothills of beautiful North Carolina in the latter part of the 80's, before technology and cell phones made everything accessible at the click of a button. Her passions resided in losing herself in long novels and filling notebook after notebook with the beautiful images constantly going through her mind. As she grew she absorbed every new technique, medium, and class in the artistic field made available to her. Luckily her parents recognized her talents and encouraged her through private lessons, school opportunities and multiple competitions. Kimberly has had art showcased in galleries across the State since she was quite young and flourished with one-on-one instruction in paints, charcoal, set design, illustration, and many more.

When she was 13 Kimberly was invited to attend classes at the School of the Arts in Winston Salem, North Carolina where she learned even more how to express that inner passion she is brimming with. Throughout high school Kimberly won multiple awards and certificates for her illustrations and paintings and was showcased in a variety of media including state highway safety calendars, State Fair competitions, yearbook cover designs, set and costume design, and was even invited to create large scale murals throughout the school that remained for many years after.

Her passion only grew from there and still hungry for more knowledge, Kimberly dove into the fascinating world of tattooing. She gained an advanced apprenticeship under George Holderby of Guyandotte, West Virgina and spent years helping others express themselves through the unique field of body art.

After moving back to her home state, Kimberly decided to further develop her skills by enrolling in classes at Wake Technical College and has achieved multiple certificates in Graphic Design, Web Design, and Design Basics. She is continuing her education and expects to graduate with an AAS in Advertising & Graphic Design in the Fall of 2020.

In 2018 Kimberly founded Khat Graphics in order to couple together her many different fields of art into one big family. She has two different ongoing online comics that can be found on multiple social media platforms and comic sites and teaches wine glass painting classes at a community art center in Clayton, North Carolina.

In her spare time Kimberly can be found back in her home town enjoying her life with her children, pets, and loved ones. She sometimes even gets a chance to get out on her kayak from time to time!
